After the bizarre hit Baskin, and the even stranger Housewife director Can Evrenol changed his style. Rather than features, he did the “Al Karisi” segment of The Field Guide to Evil and several episodes of the Netflix show The Protector. Now he’s back and his post-apocalyptic adventure Girl with No Mouth is due to release on Blu-Ray, DVD and VOD across North America on December 8th via Indiecan Entertainment.

In Girl with No Mouth, a group of children who suffer from deformities due to a toxic explosion, embark on an adventure in a war-torn post-apocalyptic region. The Turkish production comes from Can Evrenol, director of the successful TIFF Midnight Madness selection Baskin, and the horror film Housewife (currently available on Shudder).

Judging by the trailer Girl with No Mouth is more of a post-apocalyptic fairy tale, the title character’s name Peri translates as fairy princess, in the style of the original Brothers Grimm than the nightmarish horror we’re used to from Evrenol. Check out the trailer and see what you think.
