Saban Films just set the poster and trailer for American Carnage which sounds like a teen-oriented black comedy mixing current politics with Ted V. Mikels The Corpse Grinders. I’m not sure if this is meant to be satire or just an exploitation-style cash-in on the immigration issue, but the film’s “R” rating for disturbing violence and gore, drug use, nudity and sexual references certainly seems to be a clue, if they toss in a Ted Cruz look-alike we’ll know for sure. Either way, we’ll know when American Carnage arrives in theatres as well as Digital and VOD platforms on July 15. Read on for more information.
After a governor issues an executive order to arrest the children of undocumented immigrants, the newly detained youth are offered an opportunity to have their charges dropped by volunteering to provide care to the elderly. Once inside the eldercare facility, the volunteers discover the governor and the facility’s supervisor have cooked up a horrifyingly depraved conspiracy that endangers the young and the old in this twisted thriller-comedy.
