Joe Begos who’s given us Almost Human, The Mind’s Eye, Bliss and VFW is back with his take on seasonal slaughter, Christmas Bloody Christmas. And who doesn’t want to see a robot Santa channel The Terminator and go on a killing spree? Christmas Bloody Christmas made its debut at this year’s Brooklyn Horror Film Festival pits record store owner Tori Tooms (Riley Dandy, Interceptor, The City of Gold) and Robbie Reynolds (Sam Delich, The Marshes, Spiderhead) against a toy store display come to malevolent life.
Shot on 16mm film and set against a backdrop of drugs and holiday partying it’s another throwback to classic grindhouse fare from a writer/director who’s proven he can do it right. You can check Christmas Bloody Christmas out a month from now on December 9th when RLJE Films releases it in theatres and for streaming on Shudder.
It’s Christmas Eve and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms just wants to get drunk and party until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon-drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood-splattered battle for survival against the ruthless heavy metal Saint Nick himself.
Riley Dandy, Sam Delich, Jonah Ray Rodrigues, Dora Madison, Jeremy Gardner, with Jeff Daniel Phillips, and Abraham Benrubi
