Breathe – Starring Jennifer Hudson and Milla Jovovich Gets A Release Date

Milla Jovovich is doing another post apocalyptic action thriller, and while it doesn’t look to be as much fun as her Resident Evil films, it certainly looks miles ahead of her time in Future World. Directed by Stefon Bristol, from a screenplay by Doug Simon who also wrote Demonic, the 2015 haunted house film not Neill Blomkamp’s 2021 film. There were stills released from it as far back as 2022 before it seemed to drop off everyone’s radar.

There’s not a lot out there on the film, but a cast that includes Milla Jovovich, Jennifer Hudson, Common and Sam Worthington facing off on an oxygen depleted Earth sounds like fun to me. Warner Brothers will release Breathe on April 26th.

Breathe is a heart pounding thriller set in the future. After Earth is left uninhabitable due to lack of oxygen, a mother Maya (Hudson) and her daughter Zora (Wallis) are forced to live underground, with short trips to the surface only made possible by a coveted state of the art oxygen suit made by Maya’s husband, Darius, whom she presumes to be dead. When a mysterious couple arrives claiming to know Darius and his fate, Maya tentatively agrees to let them into their bunker, but these visitors are not who they claim to be, ensuing in mother and daughter fighting for survival.

Jennifer Hudson (Cats, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete), Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element, The Fourth Kind), Quvenzhané Wallis (Swagger, 12 Years a Slave), Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead, Knives Out) with Common (Silo, John Wick: Chapter 2) and Sam Worthington (Simulant, Avatar: The Way of Water)
